The ABINGTON TOWNSHIP BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS will take action August 14, 2025 at 7:00 p.m., to be held at the Township Building, 1176 Old York Rd., Abington, PA and will hold a public hearing on and will consider for adoption, an ordinance amending Part II, General Legislation; Chapter 162, Zoning. The title of the Ordinance to be considered is the following:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF ABINGTON, MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AMENDING THE CODE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF ABINGTON AT PART II [GENERAL LEGISLATION], CHAPTER 162 [ZONING], AT ARTICLE II [DEFINITIONS], ARTICLE XXI [USE REGULATIONS], ARTICLE XXIII [PARKING AND TRANSPORTATION], AND THE COMPREHENSIVE USE MATRIX TO INCORPORATE PROVISIONS FOR THE C-39 [MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARY] AND D-18 [MEDICAL MARIJUANA GROWER/PROCESSOR] USES.
The proposed Ordinance is summarized as follows:
Section 1 amends Chapter 162; Article II; Section 201 to add definitions. Section 2 amends Chapter 162; Article XXI; Section 2103.C to provide for the Medical Marijuana Dispensary use. Section 3 amends Chapter 162; Article XXI; Section 2103.D to provide for the Medical Marijuana Grower/Processor use. Section 4 amends the Comprehensive Use Matrix to add designations for Use C-39. Section 5 amends the Comprehensive Use Matrix to add designations for Use D-18. Section 6 amends Chapter 162; Article XXIII, Section 2304, Subsection C to add parking requirements for Use C-39. Section 7 amends Chapter 162; Article XXIII, Subsection D to add parking requirements for Use D-18. Section 8 contains a repealer. Section 9 maintains severability of the Ordinance. Section 10 states the ordinance becomes effective immediately.
Additional amendments may be made with respect to the Ordinance prior to or during its final enactment. Advertisement related to the final enactment of the Ordinance, in final form, including amendments, will be made in accordance with the requirements of the Pennsylvania First Class Township Code.
