The ABINGTON TOWNSHIP BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS will take action December 11, 2025 at 7:00 p.m., to be held at the Township Building, 1176 Old York Rd., Abington, PA and will hold a public hearing on and will consider for adoption, an ordinance amending Part II, General Legislation; Chapter 146, Subdivision and Land Development. The title of the Ordinance to be considered is the following:
AN ORDINANCE OF ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, PURSUANT TO ARTICLE V OF THE PENNSYLVANIA MUNICIPALITIES PLANNING CODE AMENDING THE ABINGTON TOWNSHIP SUBDIVISION AND LAND DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE OF 1991 TO AMEND SECTION 146-51 TO PERMIT A WAIVER FROM THE LAND DEVELOPMENT PLAN APPROVAL PROCESS FOR A PARTIAL NONCONFORMING STRUCTURE RESTORATION
The proposed Ordinance is summarized as follows:
Section 1 amends Chapter 146; Article VII; Section 51 to add Subsection M to provide for a process and criteria for a waiver of land development for a Partial Nonconforming Structure Restoration. Section 2 maintains severability of the Ordinance. Section 3 contains a repealer. Section 4 states the ordinance becomes effective 5 days after adoption.
Additional amendments may be made with respect to the Ordinance prior to or during its final enactment. Advertisement related to the final enactment of the Ordinance, in final form, including amendments, will be made in accordance with the requirements of the Pennsylvania First Class Township Code.
